Teacher checks attendance of students.
a) Apperception : (5
minutes)
Ask students to think what kind of
situation that we need to use the negative numbers. Gives some questions in
order to explore student knowledge about integers. Therefore, teacher can
check prerequisite skill about integers that students already had.

b) Motivation : (3
minutes)
Gives motivation about the
importance of integers in daily life. Show the pictures of thermometer. Ask
student to share idea about that.

c) Goal : (2
minutes)
Informing students about the
learning objectives, that students are able to:
Apply the properties of mathematical
operation of integers in problem solving.

a) Exploration : (35
minutes)
1.
Shows thermometer pictures . (situational)
2.
Ask student what kinds of numbers in thermometers
3.
Make sure that student should be interactive with the
picture
4.
Asking the meaning of the negative/positive number (above/below sea level) in Everest
pictures.
5.
Give students contextual problem in worksheet 1 which
is do individually
6.
Guide students who have difficulties with problems
7.
Guide student to discuss and share their idea
8.
Dividing students into some groups.
9.
Giving student a worksheet 2 and Plano paper
10. Guiding the
group which is still does not understand with the problem in the worksheet.
11. Choose a
group to present their work in front of class then solve the problem on the
worksheet by their own way.
12. Giving chance
for another group to ask about the problem in the worksheet to group that
presenting in front of class.
13. If the group
cannot solve the problem, giving back the question to another group until it
can be solved.

b) Elaboration : (15
minutes)
1. Break all
groups into normal class.
2. Guides
students with the question: Can you mention what types of situation that you use a
negative number to describe an event?

c) Confirmation : (10
minutes)
1. Ask the
students to find out what they do not understand.
2. Do dialogue
to make clear students’ understanding and give feed-back.

Closing
|
(10 minutes)
|
1. Guides
students to make reflection what they have studied today.
2. Giving
individual test.
